Peak Instrument Performance is a third-party service provider dedicated to a customer-first approach to service. Our company was founded in 2025 by Matt Christian and Stephen Saunier, Field Service Engineers with a true passion for excellence and a combined 40 years of experience in a wide variety of analytical and research laboratory experience.

Matt Christian started his career in the pharmaceutical field. From Quality Control Technician to Chemist to Research Scientist, the focus was always on Quality and Excellence in cGMP environments. When Matt transitioned from the bench to management, the responsibilities changed but the focus did not. When the time came to seize a new opportunity as a Field Service Engineer, the dedication to quality and safety remained. After a few years in that role, Matt met fellow FSE Stephen Saunier and Peak Instrument Performance LLC was born.

Stephen Saunier started out in the field as a Quality Control Chemist in a variety of pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and industry chemistry roles. Stephen transitioned from this into a variety of research roles, including managing research labs, before moving into primary education teaching mathematics, physical science, and chemistry. From here he transitioned to his first Field Service Engineering position and brought his passion for science and education to lead in customer education and truthfully found the job he felt was meant for him. Seeing the need for a more customer-focused approach to Field Service, when Matt and Stephen began working together, they felt it was the perfect time to try an innovative approach to Field Service.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide our customers with low-cost maintenance, qualification, and repair service for their laboratory equipment while maintaining the highest levels of quality and integrity.

We have always believed in providing the highest levels of service possible. It is our goal for all of our clients to have a stress-free audit when it comes to their instrumentation. Our protocols and procedures can be custom-tailored to your needs, and the results will be consistent and defensible in any regulatory audit. We do not start work at a customer site until the customer is certain of what we will do, and how it will be reported.

Our Services

PIP Offers a wide range of exceptional services, regardless of what instrumentation needs our clients have. We understand that new equipment is expensive, and maintenance can be difficult on older equipment. We specialize in trying to offer a wide range of equipment needs, and work to maintain both new and older equipment past their regular service life.

Installation and Installation Qualification – We can help you get your instruments installed, including installation qualifications, so you can quickly generate cGMP-level results. PIP’s “right first time” mentality means from installation to decommissioning, there will be no question as to the validity of results obtained.

Preventative Maintenance – All analytical equipment needs maintenance to perform as required. With our knowledge and experience, you can keep your instruments operating within performance specifications using our routine maintenance services.

Operational and Performance Qualifications – We don’t stop at maintenance. We also provide Operational and Performance Qualifications to prove your instruments can and will produce inscrutable results.

Repair Services – In the real world, we understand that things happen, and instrument components fail. When your instrument is in need of repair, our highly trained and qualified engineers will get you back up and running with minimal downtime.

Training and Optimization – We can offer training on new laboratory equipment, from entry-level familiarization to in depth use and optimizations. We also can help you build and optimize methods for new products, and as new issues arise. Our background in customer-focused training and education lends itself to helping build a lab, in any capacity.
